Take stringent action against anti-national forces: Swamy

Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government should take stringent action against anti-national forces operating in the State and bring to book those responsible for blowing up the railway track near Villupuram, said Subramanian Swamy, President, Janata Party.

Talking to reporters in Chennai on Monday, Dr. Swamy condemned the attempt to cause death and destruction and charged that it was a coordinated effort of pro-LTTE terrorists, Naxalites and anti-nationals in the State. The blast made it clear that the DMK government had lost control of the law and order.

The time has come for the Centre to consider banning all pro-LTTE organisations and detaining pro-LTTE leaders. The Tamil cinema world must also be warned of closure if they continued to step out of their routine of song and dance and indulged in politics on behalf of terrorist organisations, he said.

The party's central parliamentary board has approved the proposal to expel Vijay Mallya from the primary membership of the party till further notice.

Mr. Mallya could ask for a review of the expulsion order before June 24 with an explanation for seeking a Rajya Sabha nomination from another party.

The Janata Party has resolved to contest the maximum number of seats in the 2011 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections on the alternative ideology of Hindutva.
