Actor-Turned-Politician Vijay Holds Massive Rally in Nagapattinam Ahead of 2026 Tamil Nadu Elections
Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu – Actor-turned-politician Vijay, leader of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), held a significant campaign rally in Nagapattinam on September 20, 2025, drawing a massive and enthusiastic crowd. The event, held near the Puthur Anna statue from 12:25 PM to 1 PM, is part of Vijay’s statewide tour ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections, signaling a growing political wave in his favor.
During his address, Vijay launched a strong critique of the ruling DMK government, accusing it of failing to fulfill promises related to women’s safety, the welfare of fishermen, and support for youth and first-time voters. He challenged the DMK to engage in a fair electoral contest, asserting that the upcoming elections would be a direct battle between TVK and DMK.
Despite facing restrictions on campaign venues—such as being denied permission to hold the rally at Avuri Thidal due to a prior booking by the DMK—the event successfully took place at the Puthur roundabout, drawing widespread public attention.
Vijay emphasized key issues such as education, healthcare, law and order, and social welfare during his speech, promising significant changes if TVK comes to power. The large turnout and the energy of the crowds underscore the growing support for Vijay and his party in Tamil Nadu’s political landscape.
The Nagapattinam rally is seen as a strong indicator of TVK’s expanding influence ahead of the 2026 elections, positioning Vijay as a major contender in the state.
